WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Coppin State men's tennis team fell to 0-3 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play after losing to Howard, 7-0, on Wednesday, April 5
th. The Eagles fall to 1-7 overall on the season.
The Eagles doubles team of junior
Gavin Lewis and freshman
Andre Sturniolo fell short 6-0 at the No. 3, then sophomores
Andres Diaz and
Zaipo Oula competed at No. 1 and lost 6-2. Howard took the doubles after the third and first spots while winning at No. 3 as CSU's senior
Christian Duchnak and junior
Gabriel Franca was downed 6-0.
In singles play, Howard breezed through winning all matches against the Eagles. Oula at the third spot dropped 6-0, 6-0 while Franca went down 6-0, 6-1 at the top spot. At No. 2 Duchnak fell 6-3, 6-1 and at No. 6 Sturniolo lost 6-1, 6-4.
The Eagles will return home and play host to Delaware State on Friday, April 7 on the CSU Tennis Courts.
