Coppin State University Media Information and Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in covering Coppin State University athletics. Below is a listing of services provided by the Coppin State University Athletic Communications Office to aid media members in their coverage of Eagle athletics, and a list of a guidelines that media are asked to follow.

For more information, please contact Steven Kramer, Director of Athletic Communications, at (410) 951-3729 or by email at skramer@coppin.edu.

Credentials
Credentials are issued to working members of the media only. Because of limited working press space at home basketball, requests by press members on assignment will be honored on a space-available basis. All requests should be made to the Athletic Communications Office at least three days prior to the specified game. Requests will be screened to ensure good working conditions. Present valid identification at Will Call and admission will be granted upon acceptance the day of the game. In some cases, media members may be able to pick up credentials in the Athletic Communications Office prior to game day. Please call ahead to confirm. Photographers and videographers should follow the same guidelines.

Media Parking
Parking is available on a first come, first serve basis. Coppin State has limited parking so not every request will be able to be honored.

Basketball Press Row
Press row is located on the east side of the basketball court inside of the Arena of the Physical Education Complex. The official scorer, timekeeper, statistical crew, public address announcer and both teams are located opposite press row. Press members will have access to electrical outlets and may have access to telephone lines on a space-available basis. Outlets requesting to use phone lines need to do so in advance.

Media Services
Working members of the press will be supplied with game programs and notes. Statistics will be available at the end of each half (basketball) and following the game. Internal public address will be provided to update information, notes and elements of the play-by-play action throughout the game.

Post-Game Interviews
After the coaching staff addresses the team following a cooling-off period at the conclusion of the game, players and coaches will be made available to the media at a location to be determined by the Athletic Communications staff. The Athletic Communications staff will consult working media members in compiling a list of interview requests prior to the conclusion of each game.

Other Interviews
Interviews with CSU head coaches, athletics administrators, assistant coaches and players can be scheduled during the week by contacting the Athletic Communications office. Media wishing to schedule interviews with players are asked to contact the Athletic Communications office at least 24 hours prior to the preferred interview time. Media members are permitted to attend practice in most cases, but any interview arrangement surrounding practice time should be arranged through the Athletic Communications office. Once practice begins, coaches and players are not available until the completion of practice.
