NEWARK, Del. – Coppin State men's tennis team loss 7-0 on the road to Delaware on Monday, March 6
th at the Delaware Field House Outdoor Courts.
The Eagles fall to 0-3 overall and Delaware improves to 3-6. Senior
Christian Duchnak had a tough battle in the No. 1 singles spot for the Eagles battling Delaware's Colin Wong. Duchnak went down 7-5, 7-6 (7-1) almost forcing a third set. Sophomore
Andres Diaz loss (6-0, 6-0) to Blaise Casselbury at No. 2. Junior
Gavin Lewis competed in No. 4 singles action and was defeated (6-1, 6-4). Junior Gabriel France dropped his match (6-2, 6-1) in No. 5 action and sophomore
Zaipo Oula loss (6-3, 6-0) in the final flight.
Delaware picked up two points in the double competition sweeping all three matches. Coppin State's No. 1 doubles duo of Duchnak and France came up short 6-4. Lewis and Diaz teamed up for the second flight and loss 6-1 followed by Oula and freshman
Andre Sturniolo suffered a 6-3 defeat in No. 3 action.
Coppin State heads to Navy for their next match on Friday, March 10
th at 2:30 p.m. in Annapolis, MD.
