Eagles Tennis Stumbles in 5-2 Defeat to Morgan State

LUTHERVILLE – Coppin State men's tennis team fell 5-2 to rival Morgan State University at the Greenspring Racquet Club on Tuesday, April 5th. Andres Diaz won his singles match for the Eagles against the Bears.
 
Coppin State dropped both double matches to Morgan State in their first meeting of the season. CSU's No. 1 doubles pair of Christian Duchnak and Gabriel Franca suffered a 6-0 defeat while No. 2 doubles team of Gavin Lewis and Andres Diaz also loss 6-0.
 
The Eagles came away with two points in singles play led by Andres Diaz. Diaz was victorious in No. 5 singles play 1-6, 7-5, 10-4. Coppin State's second point of the match came in a forfeit by Morgan State giving Zaipo Oula a win at No. 6 singles.
 
CSU falls to 1-9 overall record and a 1-4 MEAC record. The Eagles return to action on Friday, April 8th with a home match against Hofstra scheduled for 3 p.m.
