LUTHERVILLE – Coppin State men's tennis team fell 5-2 to rival Morgan State University at the Greenspring Racquet Club on Tuesday, April 5
th.
Andres Diaz won his singles match for the Eagles against the Bears.
Coppin State dropped both double matches to Morgan State in their first meeting of the season. CSU's No. 1 doubles pair of
Christian Duchnak and
Gabriel Franca suffered a 6-0 defeat while No. 2 doubles team of
Gavin Lewis and
Andres Diaz also loss 6-0.
The Eagles came away with two points in singles play led by
Andres Diaz. Diaz was victorious in No. 5 singles play 1-6, 7-5, 10-4. Coppin State's second point of the match came in a forfeit by Morgan State giving
Zaipo Oula a win at No. 6 singles.
CSU falls to 1-9 overall record and a 1-4 MEAC record. The Eagles return to action on Friday, April 8
th with a home match against Hofstra scheduled for 3 p.m.
