CSU Men’s Tennis Suffers Back-to-Back Road Defeats to Temple and Loyola

PHILADELPHIA – The Eagles traveled to Temple University beginning a back-to-back road slate on Tuesday, March 29^th and fell 7-0.
 
The Owls swept the match taking all singles and doubles points improving to 16-5 overall record. Coppin State falls to 0-6 this season but displayed a fighting effort in their non-conference road matchup.
 
Christian Duchnak had a strong outing competing at No. 1 singles against Temple. Duchnak dropped the match but battled in the first set to a 6-4 score. In doubles action he teamed up with Gabriel Franca for the Eagles. In No. 5 singles play, Ross Olexa suffered a 6-2, 6-2 defeat. In doubles action, Zaipo Oula joined him at No. 3. Temple cruised through and won the match 7-0.

BALTIMORE – Coppin State men's tennis dropped a road match to Loyola, 7-0 on Wednesday, March 30.
 
Coppin State played their second away match in two days against Loyola. The Greyhounds blanked the Eagles 7-0 improving to 10-4 overall. The Eagles suffered their seventh loss of the season and are still looking for their first win of the season.
 
Gavin Lewis won the first set (7-6) but Loyola's No. 3 singles competitor rallied from behind winning the match (6-0, 11-9). That was the Eagles closest battle in their match against the Greyhounds in a 7-0 road loss. In doubles play, the Eagles duo of Christian Duchnak and Gabriel Franca went down 6-1 to Loyola's No. 1 doubles team.
