BALTIMORE – The Coppin State men's tennis team dropped their home opener match to Mount St. Mary's on Monday, March 21
st at the CSU Tennis Courts. The Eagles (0-3) were blanked 7-0 by the Mount (7-5).
This was the Eagles first match since March 5
th against Southern Illinois Edwardsville.
Mount St. Mary's breezed through winning all matches in singles and double play. Coppin State had strong outings by
Christian Duchnak and
Gavin Lewis.
Christian Duchnak fell 6-3, 6-2 in No. 1 singles action while
Gavin Lewis battled at No. 2 with a 6-3, 6-1 loss. In doubles competition, Duchnak teamed up with
Andres Diaz in No. 1 and suffered a 6-0 defeat. The duo of Lewis and
Gabriel Franca dropped their No. 2 doubles match 6-1 while
Zaipo Oula and Ross Alexa competed at No. 3 with a 6-0 loss.
Coppin State returns to its home court on Tuesday, March 22
nd with a MEAC match against Howard at 2 p.m.
