BALTIMORE – The Coppin State softball team will have to wait a little longer to meet rival Maryland Eastern Shore in its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match-up of the season.
The three-game series scheduled for this weekend was postponed and rescheduled for Tuesday, March 31 and Wednesday, April 1. Tuesday's doubleheader will begin at 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday's series final, which is a single game starts at 1:00 p.m.
The Eagles (0-14) played for the first time in 25 days after traveling to Mount St. Mary's (Md.) for a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon. Although it dropped a pair of decisions, Coppin State had its best offensive showing thus far.
Through two games, Coppin State recorded 10 hits, five runs and five RBIs thanks to the bats of six different players.

Danielle Smith led the way with two RBIs, two hits and two runs, which included her second home run of the season. Senior
Candice Van Horn wasn't far behind with two hits, two RBIs and a run of her own.
Van Horn leads the Eagles with a .333 batting average, 10 hits, seven runs and seven RBIs.
UMES lost in its last outing to UMBC on Wednesday, 2-0 and 13-5, respectively. The Hawks are paced by the hot hitting of Vanessa Gomez with a .410 batting average. She also has 25 hits, 14 runs and 10 RBIs.
Following its visit to UMES, Coppin State will continue MEAC play and its nine-game road trip against Howard April 3 & 4.
