TOWSON, Md. – Three Eagles and the 4x100m Relay were victorious at the Towson Twilight Open over the weekend at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
Carl Drakes and
Solomon Hammond won the 100m and 200m dash, respectively, in times of 10.43 and 21.42. The duo also ran the first two legs of the 4x100m Relay that took gold in 40.34, along with
Noxroy Wright and
Cole Schlotterbeck, winning the event by over a full second.
Also victorious on the day was
Asa Francis, who won the 1,500m Run in 4:03.86 with a trio of teammates following in
Humed Nura (4:06.57),
Jayeed Norbal (4:11.64) and
Etiam Torgbenu (4:17.95).
Wright and Hammond medaled in the 200m and 400m, respectively, placing third overall in 21.61 and 49.37. Wright also doubled in the 400m and clocked a time of 49.39.
Also, medaling was
Andrew Betton, who took second in the high jump by clearing 1.92m (6' 3.5") and
Alexander Dobson-Honablue, who took third in the javelin with a toss of 42.23m (138' 6"). Betton also threw the javelin 35.57m (116' 8").
