NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Solomon Hammond has been named the MEAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. This is the third time in the last four weeks that Hammond has received the honor.
A senior from Accra, Ghana, Hammond won the 100m dash at last weekend's Morgan State Legacy in a season-best time of 10.13. Hammond's time leads the MEAC and ranks 20
th in the nation. Also, leading the 4x100m Relay to victory in a time of 40.28, Hammond took second in the 200m dash in a season-best mark of 20.87.
Hammond and the Eagles are set to compete at the historic Penn Relays on April 23-25 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
