PHILADELPHIA, Pa.  – The Coppin State University tennis teams demonstrated resilience and determination in their weekend matches against Saint Joseph's and LeMoyne College, gaining valuable experience in preparation for the heart of their season.  Both program faced a tough challenge against the Hawks, falling 7-0.

In a 4-2 loss to LeMoyne College, Coppin State's men's team showed significant grit. Harsh Kheterpal battled to a three-set victory with scores of 6-2, 4-6, and 6-3. Liam Murtaugh also fought hard for a three-set win, with scores of 6-3, 3-6, and 6-2.

Head Coach Ebonye Jones commented on the weekend's matches: "This weekend was about growth and building resilience. The team faced some tough competition, and I was particularly impressed with the way Harsh and Liam battled for their three-set wins against LeMoyne. That kind of determination is what we need as we prepare for conference play. Every match, win or lose, provides valuable lessons and helps us fine-tune our game."

Looking ahead, the Coppin State women's team will play Delaware State on Tuesday, March 18th, in Dover, DE. The men's team will host Navy on March 22nd at the newly renovated Coppin State Tennis Complex.
