Box Score Annapolis, MD- Vansh Kapoor and Luka Markovic defeated Villanova's first doubles duo for a whopping 6-2 victory. This marks the first doubles win in CSU history against Villanova. Despite multiple games won in singles play, the Eagles fell short to Villanova 7-0 on Friday, February 24. Coppin is now 0-4 for the season as Villanova advances to 2-3.
In doubles play, the dominating duo of Markovic and Kapoor broke history with a 6-2 victory over Villanova's first doubles team of Gordon and Robinson. Isaac Sanders and Ulugbek Abdurakhmonov won two games at second doubles against Fourling and Brunetti for a 6-2 loss. "It was a very strong showing... We fed off of eachother's energy and that was the driving force in this victory. We are eager to keep building from here," states Kapoor.
Markovic engaged in a heated match at first singles against Robinson. With five wins for a 7-5 fall in the first set, he made a comeback with a 7-6 victory in the second set. In the tie breaker, Markovic won eight games in the set, however Robinson snuck away with a 10-8 victory for a match win.
Kapoor matched up against Brunette in second singles. He tallied three wins in the first set then won six games in the second set for a 7-6 defeat.
Sanders and Abdurakhmonov each grabbed a win at third and fourth singles for a two-set loss.
