Box Score Baltimore, MD- With a pair of wins for the first doubles duo of Sergiu Medesan and Luka Markovic, and a win from Dean Waterman at number four singles, the Eagles ended up loosing to Morgan State 6-1 on Saturday. Coppin is now 1-4 in conference while Morgan leads the MEAC with a 4-1 conference record.
Sergiu Medesan and Luka Markovic won at first doubles against Niles Rachal and Rhsjzon Rankins for a 7-5 win. After evening out at 5-5, Medesan and Markovic went on a two game win streak to take the lead and secure the victory.
Dean Waterman and Vansh Kapoor won three games in number two doubles against Mikeal Carpenter and Martial Kawunde for a loss at 6-3.
Waterman had a two set victory over Kawunde at fourth singles. After long rallies in the first set, Waterman won 6-4. In the second set after trailing 3-2, Waterman made a comeback on a four game run to seal the set at 6-3 for a match win.
Kapoor engaged in a tight two set match at number three singles against Rankins. A back and fourth first set extended to seven games as Kapoor dropped 7-6. With a 4-3 lead in the second set, Rankins bounced back to win the set.
Medesan faced Carpenter at number one singles where he won four games in the second set and grabbed a pair of wins for a loss in the second set.
Markovic won three games at number two singles in a two set loss.
