Coppin fell short against North Carolina Central last Monday, 77-74 in front of a nationally televised audience on ESPNU. Mike Hood scored a team-high 17 points while Sita Conteh contributed a season-high 14 points in his first start of the season. He also tops the league in offensive (3.1) and defensive rebounds (6.1). Nendah Tarke has received one Defensive Player and one Player of the Week award this season. He ranks 2nd nationally in steals (74) and steals per game (3.1) while ranking 6th in the MEAC in points (13.1), 4th in rebounds (6.6) and 1st in FT attempts (124). He's second to Corbett in double-doubles (4). Kyle Cardaci has stepped up his scoring to 7.7 points, followed by Mike Hood (6.3) and Justin Steers (4.7)

Norfolk State is the top ranked team in the MEAC, with a record of 8-1 (17-5 overall). The Spartans are the top defensive team in the MEAC and are one of the top defensive teams in the Nation, containing their opponents to 64.4 points per game. Joe Bryant leads the MEAC in scoring with 16.2 ppg. Jaelyn Hawkins and Kris Bankston are both scoring in double figures for the Spartans, while Christian Ings and Dana Tate Jr. are chipping in with nine points each. Bankston is ranked third in the MEAC in rebounding for a team high 6.7 RPG.

Kyle Foster is one of the top shooters in the Nation and leads Howard with 16.2 points per game while shooting a whopping 50 percent from deep. Steve Settle and Elijah Hawkins also average well over double figures with Randall Brumant and Tai Bibbs just under ten points per game. Brumant leads the Bison with 5.4 rebounds and 32 blocks. Hawkins is one of the top ballhandlers in the MEAC, averaging 6.1 assists per game.
Up Next: After traveling to Howard on Monday for a 7 pm tipoff, Coppin will visit Maryland Eastern Shore on February 26 before playing its last two home games of the season the following week.
