NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
DeMariontay Hall has been named the MEAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday night. This is the second time that Hall received the award from the MEAC.
A senior from Atlanta, Ga., Hall averaged 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 46.7% from the floor to go with five blocks and a pair of steals in two games last week. Hall opened the week with a season-high 20 points along with five rebounds, a block and two steals at Howard. Three nights later, Hall closed his collegiate career with a double-double 14 points and 11 rebounds along with a career-high four blocks.
For the season, Hall led the Eagles in points (10.6), rebounds (5.4), field goal percentage (52.4), free throws (61) and blocks (16). Hall ranked 13
th in the MEAC in scoring and seventh in rebounds. In MEAC play, he placed 11
th in scoring (12.7), eighth in rebounds (5.0) and 6
th in blocks (1.1).
