This will be the third meeting between the Eagles and UVA with the first game taking place on December 3, 1993. UVA leads the all-time series 2-0. The last time these two teams met was in 2018 and UVA won 97-40.

Coppin State men's basketball team won its first game of the season on Wednesday night, November 17, 71-49 over Loyola Maryland inside the PEC Arena.
Kyle Cardaci led all scorers with 19 points, while
Tyree Corbett had his first double-double of the season with 15 points and 13 rebounds and was 6-8 from the free-throw line.
Reggie James scored 10 points and
Jessie Zarzuela scored eight points and led the team in assists with six while shooting perfect from the free-throw line (2-2).
Nendah Tarke also scored eight points with five rebounds. Coppin's bench scored 35 points on the evening.

All-MEAC Teams. Tarke received first Team accolades while Cardaci earned seconnd Team honors. The Eagles were picked to finish fourth in the Preeseason Poll.
Coppin Contributors
Tarke earned third Team All-MEAC honors and was the 2020-21 MEAC Rookie of the Year last season. Over the final six games, Tarke averaged 16.5 points along with 5.8 rebounds and 2.5 steals.
Cardaci was the top 3-point shooter in the MEAC a year ago, making 54 3-pointers while averaging 9.3 points. He made 40.3% from deep and increased that percentage to 44.9% in MEAC play.
Eagle Returners
Returning from last season are
Nendah Tarke, the 2020-21 MEAC Rookie of the Year and a third Team All-Conference selection, as well as the league's top three-point shooter in
Kyle Cardaci.
Isaiah Gross is also back after appearing in 14 games last season following an injury plagued 2019-20 season.
Reggie James missed all of last season with an injury but played in 25 games for CSU during the 2019-20 season.
Justin Steers last played in a game during the 2018-19 season where he averaged 6.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and had 25 blocks.

Scouting UVA
UVA is 1-2 on the season after falling to Houston 67-47 on Tuesday, November 16.
Virginia was led by Armaan Franklin and Kody Stattmann. Franklin finished Tuesday's contest with a team-high 11 points, all of which came in the second half, on 3-of-7 shooting and was 5 for 6 from the charity stripe. Coming off the bench, Stattmann scored a season-high eight points and was 3-for-5 from the field, including 2-of-3 from behind the arc.

The Eagles travel to Cleveland, Ohio for the Cerebro Sports Lake Erie Challenge hosted by Cleveland State and Canisius. Coppin will open the tournament on Monday, Nov. 22 against Cleveland State at 7 pm inside
