Box Score UPPER MARLBORO, Md. – Coppin State's men's tennis team fell to UC-Riverside, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at Watkins Tennis Bubble.
The Highlanders took the doubles point with a pair of victories as well as a win by default in the third slot. The duo of
Sam Scala-McNeill and
Sergiu Medesan took three games in a loss at No. 1 doubles while
Henrique Sada and
Quincy Pettis were blanked in the second position.
Medesan was the lone Eagles player to win a set during singles play with a 6-4 victory in the second set at No. 2. The sophomore from Constanta, Romania, dropped the first set, 6-3, as well as the deciding third set, 10-6.
Scala-McNeill won three games in each set of his defeat in the third flight while
Dean Waterman also won a game at No. 5 singles.
CSU hosts its Alumni Match on Friday, February 21 and returns to competition on March 14 at North Carolina Central University.
