Men’s Tennis Dropped by MEAC Rival Howard

BALTIMORE, Md. – With only singles being played, Coppin State's men's tennis team fell to Howard, 4-1, on Thursday afternoon.  The Eagles fall to 1-5 overall after its MEAC opening match.
 
Jorge Rodriguez Rey was leading, 3-2 in the first set when his opponent retired with an injury at No. 1 singles.  This was the lone victory for Coppin.
 
Both Andres Diaz and Gavin Lewis took their matches to three sets in the second and third positions before eventually falling in the deciding set.  Gabriel Franca won four games in the second set while Howard also got a win at No. 5 to seal the win.
 
Weather permitting, the Eagles return to action on Sunday, April 8 when they host Lafayette at 4 pm.
