Men’s Tennis Falls to Visiting Delaware

BALTIMORE, Md. – Coppin State's men's tennis team fell to the University of Delaware, 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.  The Eagles fall to 0-3 on the year while the Blue Hens improve to 9-2. 
 
Jorge Rodriguez Rey got the lone win for Coppin at the No. 1 singles position with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Nathan Benyowitz.  Gavin Lewis lost in a tiebreaker in the first set in the second spot but fell, 6-2 in the second.
 
Rodriguez Rey and Lewis teamed up in the first doubles position, but fell 6-2, 6-2, while Gabriel Franca and Andres Diaz were blanked at No. 2 doubles. 
 
Diaz and Franca both took a pair of games in the first set in their respective singles games as well. 
 
The Eagles return to the court on March 29 when they host La Salle at 2 pm.
