WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Coppin State women's tennis team played their first MEAC road match of the season on Wednesday, April 5
th, dropping a 7-0 decision to Howard University. The Eagles dropped to 1-7 overall and 1-2 in the MEAC.
Howard took the doubles point by winning at No. 1 and No. 3. Freshman
Ajla Hrnjic and sophomore
Tanna Nita loss 6-0 at the first spot and then freshman
Tinashe Gwaze and sophomore
Precious Udofe also fell 6-0 at the third spot. The Eagles No. 2 duo of freshman
Brittanie Cahua and senior
Carentxa Goede won their match 7-5 against Howard's Christina Joynes and Olivia Pelham.
Coppin State suffered sweeps in all rounds of singles competition.
Brittanie Cahua had the strongest battle falling 8-6 at No. 4.
The Eagles will return home and play host to Delaware State on Friday, April 7 on the CSU Tennis Courts.
