Babcock Hannah Looks on vs Wagner

Women’s Tennis Falls to Delaware State but Looks Ahead to MEAC Tennis Roundup

| By:
Box Score DOVER, Del. – The Coppin State women's tennis team faced a tough challenge on the road, falling 7-0 to Delaware State University on Tuesday in MEAC conference play. Despite the setback, the Eagles remain optimistic as they prepare for the upcoming MEAC Tennis Roundup.

Coppin State struggled to gain momentum against a strong Delaware State lineup, dropping all three doubles matches and falling short in singles play. Freshman Brandy Babcock-Hannah fought hard in the top singles spot but ultimately fell 7-5, 6-3. Alison Azarak showed flashes of resilience in her match, pushing her opponent in a competitive first set before a 6-4, 6-1 defeat.

While the score reflects a challenging outing, The Eagles see this as a learning opportunity heading into the MEAC Roundup.

"It's always tough to take a loss like this, but we know what we need to work on," said Babcock-Hannah. "We're committed to bounce back stronger and make a statement in the next matches."

Coppin State looks to regroup and fine-tune its strategy before facing North Carolina Central, Norfolk State and South Carolina State in the MEAC Roundup. With a renewed focus the team remains confident in their ability to turn things around.

Up Next: The Eagles will compete in the MEAC Tennis Roundup on March 28-30, where they aim to showcase their potential and secure key conference wins.
