TOWSON, Md. – Two Eagles qualified for the upcoming MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the women's long jump and triple jump at the Towson Invitational on Saturday, April 15
th. Coppin State won a pair of events and had five top-10 finishes placing sixth overall with 32 team points.
Sophomore
Chontel Fils and senior
Kiersten Bond both recorded season best performances and qualified for the 2017 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Fils won the women's triple jump with a season high distance of 11.84 meters while Bond won her event in the women's long jump at 5.62 meters. Also competing in the women's long jump event was Fils placing fifth at 5.45 meters.
Bond also clocked the Eagles fastest time in the 100 meter prelims with a 17
th place finish at 12.69 seconds.
Junior
Kristen Deacon was fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.67 meters. Freshman
Aidan Alston was sixth in the javelin reaching 33.96 meters.
