EMMITSBURG, Md. – Coppin State's bid for consecutive wins ended on Thursday, Match 30
th as the Eagles fell 7-0 to Mount St. Mary's.
The loss dropped CSU to 1-3 overall. The Eagles are coming off of a win over Maryland Eastern Shore at home on Wednesday.
The Mount swept doubles with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 for an early 1-0 lead in the match. Freshman
Tinashe Gwaze and
Precious Udofe battled at the No. 1 doubles spot and fell 6-3. Freshman
Ajla Hrnjic and
Brittanie Cahua dropped their match 6-4 at No. 2.
In singles play, Udofe suffered a 6-0, 6-0 loss at No. 2 against Kelly Smith. Gwaze had a tough matchup losing her match 6-1, 6-0 against Alexa Quintanilla. Hrnjic went at No. 4 dropping her match 6-0, 6-1 against Hannah Davis. With the match set at this point for the Mount, Cauhua fell 6-4, 6-1 and sophomore
Tanna Nita faced off against Emma Blake at the 5
th flight and loss 6-2, 7-5.
