PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Kiersten Bond in the women's long jump and the women's 4x400 meter relay team won their events at the 2017 Frank Golden Invitational hosted by Ursinus College at the Flor Lewis Bakes Center on Saturday, February 4
th. Coppin State had nine top-10 finishes.
Senior
Kiersten Bond led the field events winning the women's long jump competition with a season-best mark of 5.41 meters (17' 9.00").
The Eagles 4x400 meter relay team of senior
Alexis Marsh, sophomore
Khemani Roberts, freshmen
Tre'J Johnson and
Eriell Wallace ran the team's second fastest time of the season at 4:05.47 placing first out of 11 teams.
In the shot put competition, three Eagles placed in the top-10 as junior
Kristen Deacon set a season-high measure at 12.01 meters (39' 5.00") coming fourth overall.
Khemani Roberts was fifth at 11.78 meters (38'7.75") and freshmen
Ariyana Larkins was ninth at 11.33 meters (37' 2.25").
Alexis Marsh had a strong outing in the women's 400 meter dash placing second with her second best-time of the season at 59.06. Junior
Breana Hagwood had a pair of third place finishes in the 60 meter hurdles with her best time falling in the preliminaries at 9.28.
There are two weeks before the Eagles head to the 2017 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships. Coppin State currently has six qualifiers;

Chontel Fils (long jump and triple jump),
Tre'J Johnson (triple jump), Alana Newby (shot put) and
Kristen Deacon (weight throw).
Coppin State heads to New York City for the Millrose Games on Saturday, February 11
th before the MEAC Championships in Landover, MD on February 16-18.
