LANDOVER, Md. – Coppin State women's indoor track and field team placed ninth overall with 28 team points at the 2017 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Coppin State had a pair compete in the women's triple jump finals placing fifth and seventh highlighting the third and final day. Sophomore
Chontel Fils was the Eagles' top finisher leaping 12.09 meters finishing fifth overall. Freshman
Tre'J Johnson followed with a seventh place ranking at 11.36 meters.
The Eagles capped the 2017 indoor season with sophomore
Khemani Roberts winning the MEAC Indoor Pentathlon championship with 3,353 points. Roberts also was third in the women's long jump and junior
Kristen Deacon also placed third in the women's weight throw finals.
North Carolina A&T won their first ever women's indoor MEAC title.
