ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Sophomore
Chontel Fils took first place in the women's long jump and triple jump events at the Wesley A. Brown Invitational on Saturday, January 28
th at the US Naval Academy.
Fils leaped 5.45 meters (17' 10.75") in the long jump and then measured in at 11.56 meters (37' 11.25") in the triple jump capturing first place in both events.
Senior
Breana Hagwood ran Coppin State's fastest time this season in the women's 60 meter hurdles placing second overall with a time of 9.13. Her time ranks 16
th on the MEAC indoor list. Sophomore
Khemani Roberts and freshman
Tre'J Johnson also competed in the 60 meter hurdle event with Roberts placing sixth overall (9.37) and Johnson finishing tenth (9.48).
Senior
Alexis Marsh placed ninth in the women's 400 meter dash with a season-best time of 59.00 seconds. Freshman
Cionne Gourrier was 16
th in the women's 3,000 meter run with a season-best time of 11:38.02 and sophomore
Lunnise Gibson also competed in the 3,000 meter event finishing 17
th overall with a time of 12:14.90.
Junior
Kristen Deacon placed third in the women's weight throw event with a toss of 16.65 meters (54' 7.50"). Freshman
Ariyana Larkins recorded a pair of season-high marks in both the shot put and weight throw events. Larkins placed 15
th at 10.72 meters (35'2.00") in the shot put and 18
th at 9.13 meters (29'11.50") in the weight throw.
Junior
Savannah Forte placed eighth in the women's high jump event at 1.50 meters (4' 11") ranking 16
th on the MEAC indoor list with her season-best mark.
The Eagles 4x400 meter relay team of freshman

Jasmine Henery and
Tre'J Johnson ran a season-best time of 4"02.06 placing fifth. Their time ranks 11
th on the MEAC indoor list.
Coppin State travels to Princeton, NJ for an all-day meet on Wednesday, February 1
st hosted by Princeton University.
