TOWSON – The Lady Eagles throwers participated in the Towson Invitational held at Towson University on Friday, April 8
th.
Kristen Deacon came second in the hammer throw and third in the shot put events.
Coppin State women's outdoor field team throwers racked up 20 points competing in four events at the Towson Invitational. The Lady Eagles placed second in the hammer throw and discus events while taking third in the shot put.
Sophomore
Kristen Deacon placed second in the women's hammer throw with a measure of 45.80 meters. Junior
Ellena Torres was 17
th overall at 33.95 meters.
Deacon led the bunch in the women's shot put competition as well placing third with a mark of 12.30 meters. Senior
Alethia Edwards came ninth at 11.02 meters.
Torres was the top finisher in the women's discus throw finishing second overall at 40.68 meters. Deacon came fifth in the discus event at 39.64 meters.
In the women's javelin throw, Torres was seventh with 32.00 meters while
Alethia Edwards placed ninth at 30.41 meters.
