BALTIMORE – Junior Kierston Bond led the Lady Eagle with a second place finish in the women's long jump event at the annual Don Webster Invitational held on campus in the Physical Education Complex on Friday, April 9
th.
Coppin State had six season best performances and captures gold in one event at their home meet. The Lady Eagles 4x100 meter relay team of freshman Daniah Moora, sophomore
Randi Bohler, junior
Alexis Marsh, and senior
Tanaya Yarde won their event with a time of 49.06.
Junior jumper
Kiersten Bond highlighted a trio of Lady Eagles performances in the women's long jump competition. Bond placed second overall with a season-best measure of 5.55 meters ranking fourth on the MEAC outdoor list.
Randi Bohler also recorded a season-best measure at 5.32 meters placing fourth in the event and ranking 12
th on the MEAC list. Junior
Danielle Baker placed fifth overall at 5.31 meters ranking 13
th on the MEAC list.
In the women's 100 meter dash, junior
Miriam Ekwuru came ninth in the event running a team season best time of 12.58.
Tanaya Yarde followed in 10
th place (12.59) and Daniah Moore ran a season-best time of 12.72.
Rounding out the Lady Eagles top performances at the Don Webster Invitational was the women's 200 meter competitors.
Alexis Marsh placed fifth (26.12), but both
Miriam Ekwuru and Daniah Moore had season-best times in the event. Ekwuru was ninth at 26.34 and Moore came 12
th at 26.40.
