GAINESVILLE - The Lady Eagles 4x400 meter relay team set a new school record by running a time of 3:41.60 at the 2016 Pepsi Florida Relays on Saturday, April 2
nd at Percy Beard Track. Currently, their time ranks first in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

Coppin State had two standout performances at the premiere meet on the east coast this weekend. The Florida Relays brought teams from all over and CSU represented well.

Alexis Marsh, and senior
Tanaya Yarde teamed up to run the women's 4x400 meter relays and placed eighth overall with a new Coppin State women's school record of 3:41.60. CSU now has the top relay time amongst the MEAC in that event.

Prior to her running the anchor leg on the 4x400 meter relay team,
Tanaya Yarde finished 12
th overall in the women's 400 meter hurdles event at 1:00.33. Yarde also has the top time in the MEAC amongst the 400 meter hurdlers with her season-best time. Â Â Â Â

In the women's 400 meter run,
Melissa Caddle-Hope ran a season-best time of 55.35 finishing 32
nd overall, but ranking second overall in the MEAC.

With three meets scheduled prior to May 5
th MEAC Outdoor Championships in Greensboro, N.C., the Lady Eagles outdoor track and field team heads to Newark, Del. for their next meet at the University of Delaware Open on Saturday, April 9
th.
