BALTIMORE – The Coppin State women's tennis team suffered a home loss to Mount St. Mary's on Monday, March 21
st at the CSU Tennis Courts. The Lady Eagles (1-3) fell to the visiting Mounts (3-8) after winning their first match of the season against St. Francis Brooklyn.
This was the Lady Eagles third straight home match out of a scheduled four. Next, Coppin State will host Howard in their MEAC home opener.
The Mounts took No. 1 singles against CSU's
Carentxa Goede 6-2, 6-4.
Ashley Milo finished strong but was downed 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2. Coppin State's
Miranda Taylor (6-1, 6-2),
Tanna Nita (6-1, 6-1), and
Precious Udofe (8-5) all suffered defeats in their singles matches to the visiting Mounts.
The Lady Eagles also loss in doubles competition to the Mount. At. No. 1 doubles,
Carentxa Goede and
Ashley Milo dropped their match 6-1. The duo of
Miranda Taylor and
Tanna Nita fell 6-1 in No. 2 doubles action.
Coppin State returns to its home court on Tuesday, March 22
nd with a MEAC match against Howard at 2 p.m.
