Eagles Meet Delaware State in Regular Season Finale

DOVER - Coppin State (7-21, 5-10) takes on Delaware State (7-23, 5-10) on Thursday night in a MEAC regular season finale. Game time is 7:30 p.m. (ET). Since both teams joined the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference the programs have met 68 times, with Coppin State leading the series 44-24. The Eagles fell in their earlier meeting on February 1, 2016 (71-67).
 
ABOUT THE EAGLES
· The Eagles have gone 7-21, and have just one regular-season game remaining on Thursday before the MEAC Basketball Tournament in Norfolk, VA next week …  Coppin State went 2-6 in the month of February with two key home wins coming against Howard 90-66 (Feb. 13) and against NC Central 71-60 (Feb. 18) … In January, CSU went 3-2 with key road wins against Bethune Cookman and Florida A&M … In November they won back-to-back games against Division II opponents Goldey-Beacom and Chestnut Hill.
· Most recently, four Eagles scored in double figures as Coppin State lost their sixth overtime game of the season, falling 74-72 to Morgan State. The game featured nine lead changes and four ties.
· The Eagles are currently amidst a six-game stretch that features four home games and two road  games to close out the regular season … Coppin State closes the regular-season schedule on the road versus Delaware State (Mar. 3).
· Coppin State has made a 3-PT FG in 187 consecutive games, the longest streak in the NCAA.

REGULAR SEASON FINALE
· With just one game remaining in the regular season, Coppin State travels to Delaware State on Thursday, Mar. 3. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Earlier this season Delaware State downed the Eagles 71-61 in the PEC Arena on Feb. 15. Most recently, Delaware State (7-23, 5-10) dropped their last three games versus Hampton (82-72), at Maryland Eastern Shore (74-65), and at Hampton (79-65).
 
ABOUT THE HORNETS
· Under the direction of second-year head coach Keith Walker, Delaware State has gone 7-23 this season, posting a 5-10 mark in MEAC play. The Hornets are 6-6 at home (Memorial Hall) and 1-17 on the road. They have gone 3-2 in their last five home MEAC games.
 
EAGLES ON THE ROAD
· Coppin State holds a 2-14 road record this season while going 2-5 in away MEAC games. The Eagles last road trip was a televised game against the Spartans of Norfolk State ( 77-85). In the month of February the Eagles went 0-4 in road games.
