BALTIMORE – The Lady Eagles clinched their first victory of the season downing St. Francis College Brooklyn, 4-3, on Saturday, March 12
th at the CSU Tennis Complex.
Coppin State improves to 1-2 overall record while St. Francis Brooklyn remains winless at 0-7.
The Lady Eagles finished 2-1 in doubles action taking the first two matches. The No. 1 duo of
Carentxa Goede and
Ashley Milo cruised to a 6-0 victory while
Miranda Taylor and
Precious Udofe pulled out a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles. St. Francis Brooklyn captured No. 3 doubles by default and also a default at No. 6 singles.
In singles action Coppin State captured wins at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4 positions.
Carentxa Goede shutout her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 action.
Ashley Milo lost 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2 along with
Precious Udofe at No. 5.
CSU regrouped and sealed the match with wins by
Miranda Taylor and
Tanna Nita. Taylor pulled out a 6-2, 6-3 score at No. 3 and Nita matched that posting a 6-2, 6-3 triumph.
