LANDOVER – Several Lady Eagles had quality performances at the Terrapin Invitational on Saturday, January 30
th. Six marked season-best records, three marked personal-best records, and three qualified for the upcoming MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Sophomore thrower
Kristen Deacon moved into first place amongst the MEAC in the weight throw event with a personal-record of 16.04m, finishing third overall. Senior thrower
Alethia Edwards placed seventh overall in the same event with a toss of 15.50m notching a season-best mark.
Junior jumper
Kiersten Bond placed second in the long jump event with a personal-record of 5.52m. Bond qualified for the MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championships and is currently ranked sixth in the conference.
In the triple jump event both sophomores Nathasha Patterson and
Randi Bohler placed in the top-five. Patterson was third with a season-best leap of 11.55m placing her 12
th on the conference list. Bohler recorded a personal-best measure of 11.42m qualifying her for the triple jump event in the MEAC Indoor Championships and 14
th on the MEAC list.
Patterson was seventh in the long jump event with a mark of 5.23m.
On the track, senior sprinter
Melissa Caddle-Hope and
Randi Bohler led the Lady Eagles. Caddle-Hope won the 200m dash at 25.20 while junior sprinter
Alexis Marsh was seventh in the event at 26.21.
Bohler placed third in the 60m hurdles with a personal-best record of 8.91 seconds. She ran ten tenths of a second faster in the finals than in the preliminaries. Her time ranks 12
th overall in the MEAC.
Sophomore hurdler
Breana Hagwood followed placing fifth in the 60m hurdle finals, but her time of 8.97 in the preliminaries was a season-best time and ranks her 16
th on the conference list.
Senior sprinter
Tanaya Yarde finished fifth overall in the 60m event with a season-best time of 7.76 seconds. She also finished fifth in the 400m event at 59.18.
The Lady Eagles "A" relay team placed fourth in their event with a time of 3:57.04.
The Lady Eagles next meet will be in Harlem, NY at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Friday, February 5
th.
