Coppin-Morgan men's basketball to be featured on ESPNU on Feb. 2

BALTIMORE  – The "Battle of Baltimore" is going national as one of the most anticipated games on the HBCU calendar has received some extra juice.
 
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced today that Coppin State's home game on Monday, February 2 against Morgan State will be televised nationally on ESPNU at 7:00 p.m. The game is also a "Gold Out" contest in which fans will be encouraged to wear gold to the game and fans will receive free t-shirts.
 
As part of its agreement with ESPN, the MEAC will highlight four men's regular season games and one women's game.
 
The 2015 MEAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament will also broadcast on ESPN2 with the men's championship game airing live on Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. The women's game is slated for a taped-delayed broadcast on Sunday, March 15 at 11 a.m. and will telecast on ESPNU.
 
The 2014-15 television schedule tips off on Saturday, January 17 with the five-time MEAC tournament champion Hampton Lady Pirates hosting North Carolina A&T State at 4 p.m. on ESPN3.
 
The men's television schedule begins on Monday, January 26 with the Delaware State Hornets visiting the defending MEAC men's basketball champion North Carolina Central Eagles. The two teams will face off live at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
 
Other televised games include the Hampton Pirates hitting the road on Monday, Feb. 16 to face Morgan State in Baltimore, Md., with a 9 p.m. tip-off on ESPNU. Norfolk State plays host to Delaware State on Monday, Feb. 23 in a 7 p.m. contest on ESPNU.
