Halutie Hor runs 100m dash at NCAA East Prelims

Women’s 4x100m Relay Takes 2nd at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Coppin State women's 4x100m Relay of Gifty Oku, Benidicta Kwartemaa, Kyah La Fortune and Halutie Hor ran the third-fastest time in school-history with their performance at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State this weekend.
 
Clocking a 45.15 to finish second overall to Duke's 44.80, the Eagles now rank second in the MEAC in the event and were just shy of the school-record of 44.92, set at the 2023 MEAC Championships. The Eagles also ran a 45.12 at last season's conference championship.
 
Hor, La Fortune and Oku also ran on the team's 4x400m Relay with Tracey Riley to close the weekend, finishing in 3:48.45 which ranks fourth in the MEAC.
 
A trio of Eagles ran in both the 100m and 200m dash events with Oku clocking a 11.91 in the 100 and Hor running a team-best 24.04 in the 200m. Hor matched Oku with a 11.91 in the 100m but finished thousandths of a second behind her teammate.
 
Kwartemaa also covered the 200m in 24.40, just ahead of Oku in 24.71.  Nackera Allen also clocked a 12.49 on the 100m.
 
La Fortune led Coppin in the 400m with a time of 56.41, ahead of Riley in 58.55.
 
Raniya Perry competed in the shot put at the Towson Invitational, tossing it 10.04m (32' 11.25").
 
Coppin is scheduled to compete at Towson's Twilight Senior Meet on Friday, April 4 at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
