VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Halutie Hor, Gifty Oku and
Kyah La Fortune advanced to tomorrows finals in their respective sprint events with impressive performances on Day One of the MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday at Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Hor and Oku clocked a 7.51 and 7.52, respectively, in the 60m dash to qualify for tomorrow's final. Their times now rank third and fourth, respectively, in CSU history in the event.
La Fortune won her heat of the 400m dash in 55.87 which also qualified her for the final.
In the 200m, Hor led the Eagles by placing 12
th in 24.78, followed by Oku (24.82), La Fortune (25.44) and
Serena Harrison (25.70).
Woizero Richards made her season debut and finished 10
th in the long jump with a leap of 5.13m (16' 10.0").
Monday's Final Day of the MEAC Championship will start at 12:00 pm and fans will be able to watch on ESPN+.
