NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Peter Oduro has been named the MEAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is the first weekly award of Oduro's career.
A junior from Gainesville, Va., Oduro recorded his third double-double of the season when put up 13 points and 12 rebounds along with two blocks and a steal at NC Central on Saturday.
For the season, Oduro is averaging 8.8 points and 4.3 rebounds while leading the team with a 51.9 field goal percentage. In conference games, Oduro has upped his production to 11.0 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 54.5% from the floor.
The Eagles (15-9, 6-2 MEAC) are back in action on Monday, February 17 for a 7:30 pm tipoff at South Carolina State.
