NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
DeMariontay Hall has been named the MEAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is the first weekly honor that Hall has received during his Eagles career.
A senior from Atlanta, Ga., Hall needed just 13 minutes of action to put up 18 points, nine rebounds and a pair of steals in a win over Central Penn. Hall also tallied four points and a team-high five rebounds with a steal at VCU over the weekend.
Through eight games this season, Hall leads Coppin in points (10.3), rebounds (5.8) and steals (nine) while shooting 46.7% from the floor and 26-of-34 (76.5%) from the line. Hall ranks just outside the top ten in the MEAC in scoring and third in both rebounding and free throws made.
