BALTIMORE – Dentry Mortimer (Nassau, Bahamas / St. Augustine's College) has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Coppin State men's tennis team for the 2024-25 season, it was announced by Eagles head coach
Ebonye Jones on Thursday afternoon. Mortimer is the first signee revealed for next season's men's tennis roster.
A native of the Bahamas, Mortimer represented his country at the 2020 Junior Davis Cup and notched a 3-4 record against some of the Region's best. Mortimer follows an impressive family legacy in the sport as his father, who is a Director of a Tennis Club, holds a victory over a young Andy Roddick, and his aunt, Autise, was a NCAA Tournament participant and two-time All-Conference selection at Newberry College.
