NORFOLK, Va. – Halutie Hor and
Nackera Allen set school-records in the 100m and 200m dash, respectively, as the Coppin State women's track & field team competed in the final day of the MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles finished seventh in the team standings with (42 points).
Hor took third in the 100m dash in 11.34, besting
Latifa Ali's old record of 11.45 set at the 2022 Penn Relays. Her time ranks her 26
th in the East Region, while Allen took fourth in the event in 11.47, followed by
Benidicta Kwartemaa in 11.76 for eighth place.
Allen turned the tables on Hor in the 200m dash, placing third in 23.32 which topped Ali's time of 23.46 from the 2021 NC A&T Invitational. She now ranks 41
st in the East Region while Hor placed fourth in the event at 23.53.
The duo also led off the 4x100m Relay which took second overall in 45.12, the second-fastest in school-history.
Woizero Richards and Kwartemaa ran the third and anchor leg of the relay.
Also scoring for the Eagles was
Destinee Lewis, who placed sixth in the 400m hurdles in 1:02.58.
To wrap up the Championship, the 4x400m Relay of
Tracey Riley, Hor, Lewis and
Kaelyn Woodrum took fifth in 3:48.15.
