PHILADELPHIA – Coppin State's women's track & field team had an impressive showing at the historic Penn Relays this week, putting a pair of relays into the finals with another relay running one of the top times in school-history.
The 4x100m Relay of
Nackera Allen, Halutie Hor, Woizero Richards and
Benidicta Kwartemaa won their preliminary heat on Friday in 46.33. In Saturday's final, the quartet took second overall behind Georgetown in 46.03 which is the fourth-fastest in school history.
Hor also helped the 4x400m Relay advance to the finals where they finished fourth overall on Saturday in 3:48.78. She ran the second leg, following
Tracey Riley, and ahead of
Destinee Lewis and
Kaelyn Woodrum, which ran a qualifying time of 3:51.22 on Friday.
CSU was entered into the 4x200m Championship of America and the combination of Allen, Hor, Kwartemaa and
Erin Palmer finished seventh overall in 1:38.03. Their time is good for the fifth-fastest in school history.
The Eagles will head to Norfolk, Va., for the MEAC Championships on May 6-8.
