AUSTIN, Texas – Coppin State's women's track & field team sent split squads to the Texas Relays and the Towson Invitational over the weekend and got impressive performances at both venues.
Both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays competed at the Texas Relays with the combination of
Nackera Allen, Benidicta Kwartemaa, Kimani Alphonse and
Kaelyn Woodrum clocking a 46.84 in the 4x1. Alphonse, Woodrum and Allen were joined by
Destinee Lewis in the 4x4 which finished in 3:50.72.
Woodrum and Lewis also ran in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 1:03.29 and 1:03.38, respectively.
At Towson,
Erin Palmer won the 100m hurdles in 14.34 while also leading a trio of Eagles in the 100m dash (12.33). Finishing just behind Palmer in the 100m was
Serena Harrison (12.59) and
Brianna Benton (13.04). The duo also doubled up in the 200m and crossed the finish in 26.11 and 26.44, respectively.
Woizero Richards took second in the long jump (17' 11.5") while
Angel Davis also competed in the 400m (1:08.17) and
Raniya Perry in the shot put (33' 10.25").
The Eagles will compete at the South Florida Invitational in Tampa on Friday-Saturday, April 5-6.
