BOSTON, Mass. – Kimani Alphonse and
Benidicta Kwartemaa clocked top five times in the MEAC as Coppin State's women's track & field team competed at Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational on Saturday.
Alphonse clocked an 55.82 in the 400m dash which ranks second in the conference this season and she opened the 4x400m Relay to a 3:50.51, ranking third in the MEAC. Following Alphonse in the relay was
Tracey Riley, Halutie Hor and
Kaelyn Woodrum.
Kwartemaa ran a leg on the 'B' relay which finished in 4:00.44 and she led a large contingent of Eagles in the 200m dash with a time of 24.50 – the fifth-fastest time in the MEAC this season.
Nackera Allen led off the relay with
Gifty Oku and
Brianna Benton.
Riley also broke into the MEAC top ten in the 400m with a 57.73 with Woodrum (59.46),
Destinee Lewis (1:00.13), Oku (1:00.66), Benton (1:00.81) also competing in the event.
After Kwartemaa in the 200m was Hor (24.72), Allen (25.46), Woodrum (25.79) and
Erin Palmer (26.13). Allen finished the 60m dash in 7.79, followed by Palmer in 8.15.
