STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Coppin State's
Benidicta Kwartemaa and
Halutie Hor took first and second, respectively, in the 60m dash at the Fastrack National Invitational on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Sports Complex.
The Eagles duo, both of whom hail from Kumasi, Ghana, clocked in at 7.59 with Kwartemaa earning the via by thousandths of a second.
Nackera Allen followed up in 7.84 and she also led the Eagles in the 200m dash in 25.72.
Hor also ran the second leg of the 4x400m Relay that took second overall in 3:56.56. She followed
Kimani Alphonse in the relay with
Tracey Riley and
Kaelyn Woodrum rounding it out.
Woodrum had a busy afternoon, competing in the 60m dash (8.14), 60m hurdles (9.24) and high jump (1.45m; 4'9").
In the 400m dash,
Brianna Benton finished in 58.99, just ahead of
Destinee Lewis in 59.61 and
Erin Palmer was just behind Woodrum in the hurdles in 9.36.
In field events,
Serena Harrison leaped 5.04m (16' 6.5") in the long jump with
Raniya Perry tossing the shot put 10.10m (33' 1.75").
CSU will compete at the MEAC Championships on February 18-20 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
