UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The MEAC's top two fastest times in the 60m dash this season now belong
Benidicta Kwartemaa and
Halutie Hor as the duo led the Eagles at the Penn State National Open over the weekend.
Kwartemaa and Hor, both of whom hail from Kumasi, Ghana, clocked times of 7.52 and 7.53, respectively, in the 60m dash. In the semifinals, Kwartemaa posted the league's top time before Hor took third in the finals with a 7.53 to Kwartemaa's 7.59.
Hor also clocked a 24.64 in the 200m dash, followed by
Nackera Allen's 25.32 and Kwartemaa's 25.35. Allen also posted a blistering 7.70 in the 60m dash.
In the 400m dash,
Tracey Riley clocked a 58.13 whereas
Erin Palmer and
Kaelyn Woodrum posted a 9.45 and 9.53, respectively, in the 60m hurdles.
Woodrum also competed in the pentathlon and accumulated 2,660 points. Her top event was the 60m hurdles where she recorded 773 points by running a 9.68.
Coppin heads back North on February 2-3 to compete at Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational.
