Halutie Hor Wins 200m Dash at South Florida Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. – Halutie Hor won the 200m dash while taking second in the 100 m dash to lead the Coppin State women's track & field team on Saturday afternoon at the South Florida Invitational.
 
A junior from Kumasi, Ghana, Hor took the 200m in a personal record time of 23.99, which is the third-fastest time in school-history.  Hor finished just ahead of sophomore Ghanaian Gifty Oku, who also PR'd in 24.09.  Earlier in the day, Hor took second in the 100m dash in 11.66 while Oku clocked another personal record in 11.88.
 
Kimani Alphonse and Shenelle Tomlinson took second and third, respectively in the 400m dash in times of 54.04 and 54.95. Salomay Agyei also competed in the event and finished in 58.39.
 
Also recording a top five finish was Jahmei Wyatt, who took fourth in the 800m Run in an outdoor-best time of 2:11.54, ranking fourth in CSU history.
 
Destinee Mcloud led a trio of Eagles in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 1:04.77, followed by Kaelyn Woodrum (1:07.17) and Angel Davis (1:09.35).  Brianna Benton recorded a 26.03 in the 200m dash.
 
Select athletes also ran at the Bison Invitational, hosted by Gallaudet University in our Nation's Capital.  Serena Harrison clocked a 13.36 in the 100m dash and took seventh in the long jump (4.77m). Erin Palmer advanced to the finals of the 100m hurdles in 16.06 and leaped 9.43m in the triple jump.
 
Coppin returns to the track for the NSU Invitational on April 14-15.
