NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Vansh Kapoor was named the MEAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. This is the first time that Kapoor has been named the league's Player of the Week, and his first weekly honor since receiving Rookie of the Week accolades on February 24,2021.
A junior from New Delhi, India, Kapoor picked up a straight-set, 7-5, 6-4 victory over Loyola's Nick Lawliss at No. 3 singles last week. Kapoor also paired with
Luka Markovic for a 7-5 win against Lawliss and Nick Haggar in the first doubles slot.
Kapoor is currently 3-9 in singles play and 4-8 in doubles action on the season.
The Eagles host Wagner College on Sunday, April 9.
