BALTIMORE – Halutie Hor and
Jahmei Wyatt won events as the Coppin State women's track & field team competed at the Morgan State Legacy on Saturday at Hughes Stadium.
A junior from Kumasi, Ghana, Hor took gold in the 100m dash in a person-record 11.47 while taking third in the 200m dash in 23.93, which is also a personal best. Fellow Ghanaian
Gifty Oku finished just behind Hor in both events, finishing sixth in the 100m dash (11.94) and fifth in the 200m dash (24.30).
Clocking a 2:13.82 in the 800m Run, Wyatt cruised to a victory in the event while taking second in the 1,500m Run in a personal record 4:41.63.
Shenelle Tomlinson and
Destinee Mcloud took second in the 400m dash and 400m hurdles, respectively, with Tomlinson finishing in 54.76, and Mcloud in a personal record 1:02.33.
Also medaling on the day was
Saidai Stuteley, who took third in the 3,000m Steeplechase in 13:11.30. She also finished the 1,500m Run in 5:41.38.
Kaelyn Woodrum continued her preparation in the multis, clocking a 15.33 and 1:08.68 in the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, respectively. She also cleared 1.45m (4' 9") in the high jump and leaped 4.22m (13' 10.25") in the long jump.
Erin Palmer took sixth in the 100m hurdles (14.53) while also covering 8.98m (29' 5.5") in the triple jump.
Elsewhere,
Brianna Benton recorded a personal record in the 400m dash (58.33) as did
Raniya Perry in the shot put (10.29m; 33' 9.25").
Angel Davis clocked a 1:10.60 in the 400m hurdles.
The Eagles will compete at the 127
th Penn Relays on April 27-29.
