Women's Tennis Sweeps Wagner in Doubles Play

BALTIMORE, M.D.: Despite winning out in all doubles matches with multiple singles victories, women's tennis falls one point shy to Wagner on Sunday for a final score of 4-3. The Eagles are now 1-15 for the season while remaining 0-4 in conference play.   

Hana ElSherif and Emperess Johnson matched up against Tara Dakic and Paula Ysabelle at first doubles for a 6-3 victory. Kenyange Kaounde and Mackenzie Jones paired up at number two doubles for a 6-4 win against Gabreille Perraudin and Jasmine Lin. Indy Ampaw and Megan Etienne left the Seahawka third double duo scoreless for a  6-0 match win.  

Jones won at fourth singles for a 6-1 victory in both sets. Johnson also won her singles match at sixth singles for a score of 6-1 in set one and a perfect 6-0 in the second set.  

Kaounde played to clinch at fifth singles against Lin. After winning the first set 6-2, she dropped the second set 4-6. Kaounde won two games in a hard fought third set for a loss at 6-2.  

Elsherif won four games collectivley at first singles for a two set loss to Perraundin. Ampaw retired at third singles for 2-1 loss to Yasebelle. Etienne grabbed a win at second doubles against Dakic for a two-set defeat.   

Up Next: Women's tennis will be back in conference play to match up against Howard Bisons on Saturday, April 15th at Howard Tennis Complex.
