NEW YORK, N.Y. – Jahmei Wyatt won the 500m dash while Halutie Hor posted a pair of top-five finishes to lead the Coppin State women's track & field team at its season-opening KPMG HBCU Showcase on Saturday at Armory Track & Field Center.
Wyatt clocked a 1:16.46 in the 500m dash, besting the competition by over a full second.
After finishing in 7.75 in the prelims of the 60m dash to open the day, Hor finished fourth in the finals of the event in 7.70. She also finished the 200m dash in 25.59 to place fifth overall.
Shenelle Tomlinson also medaled in her open event, earning the bronze in the 800m Run (2:21.21).
Destinee McCloud doubled up in the 400m dash, where she took sixth in the 400m dash, while running the 60m hurdles in 10.26. Kaelyn Woodrum also competed in both events, finishing in 1:02.24 and 10.99, respectively. Erin Palmer led the three Eagles in the 60m hurdles in 9.47.
Saidai Stuteley finished the Mile (6:04.95) and 3,000m Run (11:49.33) while Angel Davis finished the 200m dash in 27.06.
Coppin returns to the track on Saturday, January 21 at the Carolina Challenge, hosted by University of South Carolina.
