NORFOLK, Va. - Coppin State's Iva Jankovic received MEAC Second Team All-Conference honors for Women's Tennis, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Voting for the awards was done by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Jankovic is the first Coppin women's tennis player to earn All-MEAC honors since 2007 when Andreea Apostu earned First Team honors. She is just the third different Eagle to receive All-Conference accolades, joining Apostu (2004, 2005, 2007) and Stephanie Floyd (2005).
A native from Belgrade, Serbia, Jankovic won seven singles matches this season along with four wins in doubles play. Jankovic closed the season on a three-match win streak at number one singles with victories against competitors from Morgan State, Harford Community College and Loyola Maryland.
